At Les Varendes High School we believe that every young person regardless of their background, has the potential to succeed and overcome life's challenges. We aim to empower our entire community—students, staff and all those we support—to dream big and strive for a better tomorrow, for themselves and those around them. We are an ambitious school at the heart of our community. We inspire all our students and staff to dream big and to believe that through hard work and resilience they can achieve whatever they set their minds to. Ambition is what drives us to aspire to be better today than yesterday.

RESPECT 

We value respect because success in life is often forged through strong relationships with others. We foster a culture of respect for self, others, and community. We celebrate diversity, empowering students to be curious, courageous, and confident to stand up for what they believe in.

RESPONSIBILITY 

Responsibility is key to our community focus at Les Varendes High School. We foster responsibility in both academic and community engagement, underpinned by our pastoral system and diverse extra-curricular programme. We provide opportunities for students to understand their role as responsible citizens, equipping them  to be active and engaged members of their school and wider community.

RESILIENCE 

Developing resilience is vital to success in both education and life. Being resilient means persevering through challenges, learning from our mistakes, recovering quickly from disappointments and adapting to change. It involves seeking support when needed, and developing strategies to overcome obstacles. Building these resilient habits will prepare our students to confidently navigate life's inevitable challenges.
